Product Description
The Surge Guard® 35550 Hardwired Surge Protector provides comprehensive electrical protection for 50-amp RV electrical systems by continuously monitoring incoming campground shore power and disconnecting service whenever unsafe electrical conditions are detected.
Designed for permanent installation within your RV's electrical compartment, the 35550 offers protection without the security concerns associated with portable surge protectors. By mounting inside the coach, the unit remains protected from theft, weather, moisture, and accidental damage.
The system automatically shuts off power if it detects an open neutral condition, dangerously low voltage below 102 volts, or high voltage above 132 volts. Once shore power stabilizes and returns to acceptable operating limits, the unit automatically reconnects power without requiring user intervention.
Advanced multi-mode surge suppression helps protect valuable RV equipment including air conditioners, residential refrigerators, converters, inverters, televisions, microwave ovens, and other sensitive electronics from damaging power spikes and fluctuations.
A built-in caution indicator light also warns users of common campground wiring issues including reverse polarity, miswired pedestals, and elevated ground voltage, helping prevent costly electrical damage before it occurs.
For additional convenience, the Surge Guard 35550 supports an optional remote LCD display that allows RV owners to monitor electrical system conditions from inside the coach.
