Description
The twelve-inch Softride coil delivers a 250-pound-per-inch rate. It fits two-and-a-half-inch-body shocks.
Construction and application
- Softride processing uses high-tensile chrome-silicon wire and high-velocity hard-steel-pellet shot peening to compress the surface and increase tensile strength.
- Presetting fully compresses the spring until its coils touch at solid height to relieve stress and prevent sag. Each spring undergoes cycle testing.
- Closed ends are ground flat, perpendicular to the spring axis, to distribute force evenly and simplify assembly. The process controls spring height and rate for off-road response and consistent handling.

Closed ends on Skyjacker 3X12X250PR are ground perpendicular to the spring axis to make flat load-bearing seats. High-tensile chrome-silicon wire is steel-pellet shot-peened, compressing the surface to increase tensile strength. Solid-height presetting addresses stress and sag, and cycle testing completes the Softride spring process.
