Product Description
The Southwire 41261-011 Automatic Transfer Switch combines automatic generator transfer capability with comprehensive RV electrical protection in a single advanced unit. Designed for 50-amp, 120/240-volt RV electrical systems, this transfer switch automatically manages power between campground shore power and onboard generator power while helping protect valuable RV electronics and appliances.
Unlike standard transfer switches, the 41261-011 incorporates built-in protection against a wide range of electrical hazards, including miswired pedestals, open neutral conditions, open ground faults, reverse polarity, voltage abnormalities, frequency issues, and power surges.
The unit utilizes dual 80-amp Chint contactors with an integrated mechanical interlock system. This design prevents both power sources from engaging simultaneously, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
When generator power becomes available, the switch automatically transfers power after a built-in 30-second delay, allowing generator voltage and frequency to stabilize before energizing the RV electrical system. This helps protect air conditioners, refrigerators, converters, and other sensitive equipment.
Unlike traditional metal enclosures, the durable plastic housing helps eliminate concerns about corrosion, sharp edges, and energized metal surfaces while providing a secure enclosure for internal electrical components.
