Description
A 0.4 mm ruthenium-alloy center electrode and 0.8 mm platinum ground electrode form the Double Fine Electrode design in NGK 96355. This resistor plug uses a projected insulator and gasket seat.
Construction
The 0.4 mm center and 0.8 mm ground electrodes are designed to ignite a wider range of air-fuel ratios. Corrugated ribs resist flashover; an alumina-silicate ceramic insulator provides strength and heat transfer, and the copper core helps remove heat. Trivalent metal plating provides corrosion and anti-seizing protection; the source states anti-seize is not required. The design supports more complete combustion, throttle response, idle quality and cold starts.
