Description
A whistle sounds during the compression stroke and stops at approximately top dead center, giving an audible guide to piston position. This indicator threads into 14- or 18-millimeter spark-plug holes with the cylinder heads installed. Uses include timing-chain inspection or replacement, distributor installation and cylinder leak-down work.
