Description
Intercept blow-by before it coats intake components with oil, fuel and carbon. Internal baffling and a bronze filter separate contaminants from the vapors.
Construction and application
- The factory air-oil separator returns blow-by to the oil pan; fuel and water in that return can thin engine oil and reduce its effectiveness.
- Second-generation 2.7L engine uses port and direct injection; port injection helps clean intake valves but does not protect other intake components.

Additional product details
The Mishimoto MMBCC-BR27-21P direct-fit catch can kit intercepts blow-by before it reaches the intake. In the second-generation 2.7L engine, port injection cleans the intake valves but leaves other intake components exposed to oil, fuel and carbon carried by blow-by. Custom-molded hoses with Ford-specific quick-disconnect fittings route those vapors through an internal baffle and air turbulators that condense oil, fuel and water. A 50-micron sintered bronze filter captures carbon particles. A 2-1/2 mm steel bracket mounts the can away from engine vibration, and captured fluid can be collected for recycling at an oil change.
