A Tacoma short-bed cover must line up with the right tailgate and bed-rail positions to protect cargo properly.
On this Tacoma-sized ALX, the rear rotary latch releases the cover for folding toward the cab. The built-in retaining straps secure the folded panels during travel without covering the entire bed.
