The Dometic FreshJet 5 Rooftop RV Air Conditioner with Heat Pump delivers advanced cooling and heating performance in a compact low-profile rooftop design engineered for modern RV comfort. Featuring approximately 15,000 BTU of cooling capacity along with integrated heat pump functionality, this unit provides powerful climate control for both warm and cooler weather conditions.

Designed for both ducted and non-ducted applications, the FreshJet 5 utilizes a custom blower system to improve airflow circulation while operating quieter than previous-generation rooftop air conditioners. Built-in hard start technology improves startup reliability and helps reduce compressor strain during operation.

This model includes a built-in multi-zone electronic control board for expanded climate control capability and is compatible with many existing Dometic and competitor air return systems. Its durable evaporator e-coated coils enhance long-term performance while reducing refrigerant requirements compared to earlier models.

The low-profile design maintains compatibility with standard 14 Inch x 14 Inch rooftop vent openings while improving roof clearance and aerodynamic performance.

For Penguin II replacement applications using 10-button thermostats, use RJ45 Adapter Part Number 9610008210 where required.

Electronic heat-pump controls and Penguin II replacement fit

The white Dometic FreshJet 5 FJX5557EHPWHCS (manufacturer item 9620017216) is a 15,000 BTU rooftop air conditioner with heat-pump heating and a factory-installed electronic control board. This electronic EHP version is different from the mechanical FreshJet 5 heat-pump model. Select a compatible Dometic Connect Essential wall thermostat and an appropriate interior air-distribution or return-air assembly for the RV's ducted or non-ducted installation.

Penguin II upgrades: The existing replacement and adapter information above remains applicable where the original installation qualifies. For applicable older Penguin II control wiring, Dometic identifies RJ11-to-RJ45 adapter 9610008210 and a compatible Connect Essential CMC thermostat when replacing the prior 10-button CCC2 wall control. An existing CCC2 thermostat should not be assumed to connect directly to this factory electronic board. Confirm thermostat generation, wiring conductors, zone count, roof opening, interior assembly, and the rooftop unit's electrical nameplate before ordering. A wall thermostat and suitable interior assembly are sold separately for new installations.
