Ram owners with a matching factory fifth-wheel prep system can use CURT 16044 to install the 20,000-lb A20 hitch directly into the bed pucks. Its A-Series coupling design differs from the lighter-duty 16K E16 and A16 models.

Factory Puck System Fitment
CURT 16044 is the A20 fifth-wheel hitch assembled for Ram 2500 and 3500 8-foot-bed pickups fitted with the OEM Ram fifth-wheel puck system, with the manufacturer listing 2013–2026 applications. The factory under-bed puck system and compatible long-bed truck configuration are required. This is not a universal rail-mount hitch or a short-bed slider.
Its separate ratings are 20,000 lb gross trailer weight and 5,000 lb vertical/pin load; installed hitch height adjusts from 14–18 inches. Package comprises the A20 head 16540 and Ram puck legs 16021. Match the puck layout, trailer kingpin, cab clearance and the tow vehicle's own capacities before use; the lowest-rated component governs.
