Design details

• Pulsed current is frequently encountered in American vehicles such as Ram and Jeep; decoder requirements still depend on the specific vehicle and bulb application.
• The decoder smooths pulsed current from the vehicle computer to the LED bulb and supports bulb-fault monitoring. A 55-watt original bulb replaced by a 30-watt LED can register a 25-watt loss. This decoder adds 5 watts, bringing the circuit to 35 watts, but sensitive vehicles including Cherokee, 300, Charger and some Mercedes may still report a fault or shut down the lighting circuit after automatic checks. Those cases require capacitor relays with an add-a-circuit option and ODX 55-watt resistor sets.
