The five-inch lift springs combine progressive action with long travel. Flex Rate supports articulation before Ride Rate engages.
Construction and application
- The progressive, two-stage long-travel spring uses a first Flex Rate that expands during full articulation to keep the coil seated at its upper mount and tires in contact with terrain. Compression beyond that stage engages the second Ride Rate.
- SAE9254 spring steel undergoes presetting and high-velocity steel-pellet shot peening. Peening compresses the steel surface to increase tensile strength. The design combines off-road articulation with smooth street-riding characteristics.

This long-travel coil uses a Flex Rate stage that allows expansion during articulation to maintain upper-mount seating and tire contact. Further compression brings the second Ride Rate stage into operation. High-velocity steel-pellet peening compresses the spring surface for increased tensile strength.
